Question by : How to switch costumes in batman arkham city challenge maps ?
I have batman arkham city for xbox 360, and I have alternate costumes for each of my playable characters. 2 for batman, 2 for catwoman, and 1 for robin[I live in America]. I did not see how to switch costumes in challenge maps. I know you can automatically use the alternates in challenge maps, but to use them in story, you have to beat story. And I know robin isn’t playable in story.

When in challenge maps and you see the Batman or the character you want, scroll down.

Visually Stunning,
Bottom line up front: If you are a game collector or a Batman enthusiast, then this is worth the money.
Normally, I don’t play super hero games, because normally, they stink. But, my wife got me Batman Arkham Asylum for my birthday last year and I ended up loving it. So, I was definitely looking forward to this sequel when I heard about it. The trailers and reviews were not misleading. The introductory screen shots and (showing the companies that produced/designed the game – i.e. WB, Rocksteady) impressed me. The main menus are also eye candy.
As far as gameplay, it feels more or less the exact same as the first game – which is good. The combat system in this game is fun, fluid, and intuitive. But, they did make improvements. Batman has some new moves and takedowns and combos and it isn’t any more complicated of a system to utilize.
The storyline so far (I haven’t beaten yet) is fun and well thought out. Rocksteady did a really good job bringing Batman’s reality into our reality. There was a lot of attention to detail with regard to the relationships and backstories of all of the characters.
As far as the Collector’s Editition packaging and contents: I do not at all regret spending the extra $40 on this at all. I got some cool DLC codes (Batman the Animated Series skin and two Catwoman skins, as well as a downloadable sound track exclusive to the Collector’s Edition). The statue is really good quality and looks good on my shelf with my other game collectibles. I do want to mirror the only complaint I’ve seen about this edition of the game so far and that is that the game disc is in the back of the art book. I do wish the game disc had an actual XBox 360 game case. But, this is honestly a minor complaint in my book.

Game’s Great, Collectors Ed Packaging Sub-Par.,
Forgoing the review of the game, this is strictly for the collectors edition, as if you’re sold on the game, the actual content of the collectors edition will be what lures you in;
My biggest complaint is that the packaging design is terrible. Unlike the previous collectors edition, where albeit there was a large plastic housing for the content, this went on a “gift box” type design. Lifting up on a “flimsy” clear plastic housing, the side flaps open up, similar to a gift box you’ll see around the holidays. It boasts as having an artbook, but in reality the game is packaged inside the book, making the thought of keeping the book on a bookshelf redundant, and the book in your game collection more awkward. The Batman statue is superb, and looks great on a desk, the other flaw is, I almost don’t want to display it separately as I feel remaining packaging is almost necessary to house the book/game, and if this does find a home in your shelf of gaming titles, you’ll have a clear plastic window of nothing…
The additional dlc is average at best, with the exception of the catwoman dlc, which is a must own. Everything else you’re not missing anything; You get an additional costume, which in reality this is available as dlc in the multi-pack, which comes with several costumes…so getting 1 of a potential 7+ isn’t thrilling, especially as most will buy the multi-pack anyway. You also get Robin (yawn), but he’s only available in challenge maps, so you’ll more then likely never use him much. You also get an additional challenge map (meh).
Rounding up the remainder, you get the soundtrack, but only as a download code. Batman: Arkham City – The Album It’s not terrible, nor is it great. But, it’s not as bad as Prince’s “Bat Dance”.
You also get possibly the worst (artistically) Batman Animated film,Batman: Gotham Knight. Having watched a few minutes, I absolutely hated the style of animation. Having gone from the iconic styles of Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) to this is atrocious. It’s multiple stories, so maybe they are all different stlyes, but after 5 minutes, I couldn’t take it serious (It looked like it was animated by children). Oh…no DVD case, only a paper sleeve for this.
I got the collectors edition for substantially less than the actual game itself, but viewing it as most people won’t pay that, and would pay the retail price, I’m being more harsh. To spend $90+ on a collectors edition, when the standard edition has seen many price drops during the holiday season ($30-$40), I’d say the collectors edition isn’t quite worth it at current pricing. The publisher goes out to make you feel like you’re getting bang for your buck, but all the DLC will probably be included in a future re-release (GOTY edition???), and the movie can be easily purchased on amazon for under $5. My biggest complaint has been the packaging; I’m probably being nit-picky, but no game case, only an artbook?? (it also makes it tough to re-sell, as you’ll need everything (bye bye batman statue
)
